
Olufunke Oshonaike OLY is a table tennis star based in Hamburg Germany. Olufunke still holds the African record as the woman with the highest number of Olympic Games appearances having featured in SEVEN Games representing Nigeria – 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020. The only woman in the world to have attended the Olympics SEVEN times in table tennis.
Make that 8 as Olufunke attended the 2024 Games as a candidate for the Athletes Representative Council of the IOC where, in a pool of 30 former athletes contesting, she came 7th.
An athlete that brings a wealth of experience with different cultural diversity for playing and being played around the world. Olufunke’s goal is to protect clean sports, improving athletes’ welfare and to nurture future athletes with a view to building future successful podium Olympians.
