
Marilyn Chinwenwa Okoro is a Nigerian-British track and field athlete. She finished third in the 800 metres at both the 2007 and 2008 IAAF World Athletics Final. She was on the bronze winning 4 × 400 m relay at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics and the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.
Marilyn is a Public Sector Account Executive at Equinox, a Public speaker, Life Coach and Mentor and champion of women and girls.
Born in London and playing many sports including netball and athletics, Marilyn chose athletics after her university degree and went on to represent the Great Britain and Northern Ireland/England team for 9 consecutive years. Highlights to date include a World Championship Bronze, European Bronze and Silver and Olympic Medallist.
Marilyn is fiercely proud of her Nigerian roots, and very passionate about how to promote and inspire the next generation of athletes who, wherever they are, should be encouraged to identify with their roots, through sport.
